However, concrete has relatively poor chemical resistance, especially against acidic materials, and the presence of porosity in the concrete texture makes it possible to be watertight. Therefore, to eliminate these disadvantages, tanks are coated with thick polymer coatings from the inside. These coatings are based on epoxy or polyester resin and reinforcing fibers of the MAT or Tissue type or glass flake, and also show very high resistance to corrosion caused by erosion and corrosion caused by acid and alkali chemicals. The thickness of fiberglass coatings will vary from 1-3 mm and glass flake from 500 to 1500 microns, depending on the corrosiveness of the environment.
